About the Author
Graham McNeill has written more Horus Heresy novels than any other Black Library author! His canon of work includes Vengeful Spirit and his New York Times bestsellers A Thousand Sons and the novella The Reflection Crack’d, which featured in The Primarchs anthology. Graham’s Ultramarines series, featuring Captain Uriel Ventris, is now six novels long, and has close links to his Iron Warriors stories, the novel Storm of Iron being a perennial favourite with Black Library fans. He has also written a Mars trilogy, featuring the Adeptus Mechanicus. For Warhammer, he has written the Time of Legends trilogy The Legend of Sigmar, the second volume of which won the 2010 David Gemmell Legend Award, and the anthology Elves. I know there's lots of positive reviews for this one but really I cannot understand why. Up to this point I read all 28 Horus Heresy Books. The first 5 or so were AMAZING. This is the book that killed it for me and made me stop reading this series. They just seem to be winging it at this point. It took me a really long time to get through this one, it was painful. And some of Graham McNeil's other works were great, this one was just really, really boring and unengaging. Bolter porn describes this book.

The Rise of Horus

I thoroughly enjoyed "Venegful Spirit" McNeill has written an amazing story to add to the Horus Heresy. The battle for Molech was incredibly well thought out from void battles to the final stand. His showcase of the Death Guard has been the first real appearance since Isstvaan III and I really enjoyed their part in the book. Don't miss out on this one, you won't put it down!

I wanted to like this book

I wanted to like this book, but it just isn't good. I've read most of the Horus Heresy, but this book is just not interesting. I got about 150 pages in and just couldn't read any more. The book says alot but nothing is happening. Maybe later it gets good but it takes way too long to get there to hold my attention. It also treats the reader badly, it references several events that happened in other books but if you haven't read those books or have simply forgotten it treats you like you read it yesterday with no reminders of these events.

Many tests, "the answer key's" are excellent!

I used Delata's Advanced Skill for TOEFL ibt first, and then use this one.
This book has many tests which are excellent and enough for the TOEFL bit.
It is better to use Advanced Skill first.
Before I use this book, I used Princeton's, Barron's and Mastering skills'.
However, I could not choose the right answer because I always consider about two out of four answers,
and I couldn't understand why it becomes this one answer when I used the other books.
Surprisingly, after I use Delta's, I could completely understand it.
"The Answer Key" of these books are precise and well explained.
I strongly recommend this to all non-native English speakers.
After I have done these two books, I can clear more than 100 scores!
I appreciate the author of these books very much.

Very Disappointing !!
I bought this used book thinking that there would be minor writings but the whole book has been marked .The answers have been checked.I was stilll Ok with that.But the most annoying thing was MISSING ANSWER KEY PAGES.They have been completely torn out from the book.So here i am ,delayed with my preparation for the TOEFL test !I am surely returning the book,what good is it without answers.

About the Author
The Rev. Father James Groenings, S.J., was a Jesuit priest and author of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. In The Passion of Jesus and Its Hidden Meaning, he explains the significance of such Biblical events as the Garden of Gethsemane, St. Peter's denial, why Christ chose crucifixion, and many more, drawing from the Old and New Testaments. Father Groenings' work was originally published circa 1908 by the B. Herder Book Company, Missouri, as The History of the Passion of Our Lord Jesus Christ, with the Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur. It was also reproduced and published by TAN in 1987.

Classic Catholic Teaching

I read this book every year during lent. It was written in the late 1890's and translated and published in America in the early 1900's. So a couple of social concepts are obsolete (or maybe not) and the English is dated, but the teachings and insights are classic and Catholic. However, it is not a an easy read, and I feel one needs to read it thoughtfully and slowly to really let it sink in. I have found it to be very powerful and enlightening, and best of all it has helped me develop a better understanding of our Lord's suffering and passion. An excellent spiritual read.

I used this as a book for Lenten reflections, prayer and meditations. What I received was a very profound journey through Christ's Passion. The amount of suffering Jesus endured for us, was beyond human. There were times when the knowledge of what Christ was doing and why, had to be so
intense that only His true essence of God and Man could have allowed Him to go on. I recommend this book for anyone who wants to understand the reasons for Our Lord's deep sacrifice for us.

This book is about as good as it gets when it comes to not juts knowing about the different ways things are made, but also the bets way to design for each method. You would think that such books would be common, but they are not. It is not cheap, but I am still glad I got it. Other who visit my office always notice it and look through it and then comment that they would like their own copy.

Thus, the highly positive reviews for this book.

You will find that you will never read it cover to cover, unless you're not working, and don't actually need it, but you will regularly refer to it when working.

I just recommended this to a young engineer wanting to develop this design ability. If you too are looking to quickly increase this skill, then I would most definitely recommend it to you.

A "must have" for design/manufacturing engineers

I teach Product Design Engineering at Ohio State and I can honestly say that Bralla is absolutely the best single reference for working designers and manufacturing engineers that I've found. An incredible compendium of useful info on just about any manufacturing process you can think of, and plenty you HAVEN'T thought of, plus chapters on Design for Assembly, materials, economic considerations - you name it. The book is a bit pricey, but considering the amount of useful information packed into it, it's a steal. Bralla far exceeds McGraw-Hill's regrettably low standards for their handbooks - this one is a keeper!

A good starting point

The book provides a good starting point for design, especially for new engineers. Much of the content is `common sense' to those with experience. It covers many topics, but none in significant depth. I have yet to find a real alternative to talking to machine shops, but with the help of this text you may at least be on the same wavelength. Most people buying this will be doing it with their company's money - in saved time it is definitely worth it.
