This is my personal journey through one of the greatest warrior and leadership cultures of today, which ultimately provided me with defining leadership characteristics and the skills of a serious warrior. Nobody is born a great leader, they are made through hard work and determination.

My first Indian name given to me by the medicine man when I was a child was Bobcat. As I grew and became a young man, I returned home from my first combat experience and was given my warrior's name, Evergreen Mountain. I am an American, first and foremost, but I am also a Pueblo and Yaqui Indian. I am a former member of the US Army’s 18th Airborne Corps, 75th Ranger Regiment, and spent most of my career as an operational member of a Special Missions Unit under the United States Army Special Operations Command.

These are some of my most important leadership lessons learned from the battlefield of the war on terror. It is my sincere hope that this book serves as a resource and a compass, providing direction and guidance for individuals seeking or in a leadership position.

About the Author
Rob Trivino is retired from a long career in the United States Army. During his time on active duty he was assigned to several units; he spent the majority of his time in service assigned as an operational member of a United States Army Special Missions Unit under the United States Army Special Operations Command. Rob has extensive peacetime and wartime leadership and tactical experience, leading small teams and larger maneuver elements in combat at the ground tactical level. He has deployed on multiple combat missions to the Balkans, Afghanistan, and Iraq and has served as a Sniper Team Leader, Operations Sergeant Major, and both Assault and Sniper Element Sergeants Major. In his final assignment, Rob served as a senior enlisted advisor for a multi-service organization supporting the special operations community. Rob's awards and decorations include the Silver Star, the Legion of Merit, 5 Bronze Stars (2 for Valor), and the Defense Meritorious Service Medal. The BEST book on leadership I have ever read

I have read a great many books on management, leadership, motivation, etc over the years, as well as many biographies/autobiographies of special operations soldiers. I also graduated from one of the top business schools in the country that claimed to produce leaders (and does, but not because of what is taught). I can tell you with all sincerity none of the above addresses TRUE leadership the way Robert has and the best part is he keeps it simple and accessible--straight to the point, no BS. This is not a book on the military or military leadership--it is on leadership period, the military aspects are only used to illustrate his points. If you're looking for a military story there is some of that in here but you'll be disappointed if that is ALL you are seeking. Everyone should read this book, not just "leaders". Even if one is not in a leadership role, everyone needs to lead his/her own life! We are social creatures by nature and every social interaction requires the skills and methodology contained in this book. It doesn't matter if you're a CEO or a stay at home parent, you WILL benefit from this book. I come from a very long line of military on both sides of my family. I learned my leadership style (very similar to Robert's) from my father, who credits the Navy for his very successful financial career. I have been quite successful in my own career by following the same tenets of leadership Robert so brilliantly presents in this book. This year I have trained with several former Green Beret and Delta operators, every one of whom is first rate! While Navy SEALs get a lot of press, and I've known a few, I have found Delta guys have the most to offer in so many areas. These guys are not ego driven as a rule, in fact the vast majority are extremely humble, as is Robert. I have had the distinct pleasure of meeting men who served with Robert, men who are legends in their own right, tell me Robert's legacy and influence in Delta is profound. Buy this book today, you will be thoroughly engaged and it may change your life. I feel so strongly about it that I am buying several copies on my own dime to give to friends and coworkers.

Special operations soldier shares his hard earned experiences

Rob Trivino shares his hard earned leadership lessons with anybody willing to work hard to become a more effective leader. This is a great book and hard to put down. If you are looking for a shortcut to appearing to be a leader, this is not the book for you. Rob demonstrates that to become a better leader you must become a better person. Character is at the core of Rob's leadership principles. Rob is a very humble guy with a tremendous amount of credibility. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

like any other skill

After having served in the Marine Corps and currently assigned to a tactical unit for a large police force, one would think that leadership would be a natural skill. However, like any other skill, leadership needs to be cultivated, practiced and refined. Rob Trivino's book gives you a no nonsense view on how this came about for this humble hero. This book gives you real life experiences that every new military recruit, policeman, or business manager can use to improve their own role as a leader or start to build those important skills. The book keeps you wanting to read page after page, and in the end, leaves the reader reflecting on their own performance. This reader is in full agreement that leaders are made, and this book gives clear direction on what it takes to achieve that goal. As stated earlier, this book is a must have for any person in a potential leadership position.

Didn't fully deliver

First let me say that the cover for this book was totally awesome! I don't know who the model was but he rocked the sexy biker vibe. I've been looking forward to this latest Hope book just based on the cover but I have to say I was rather disappointed. What was with it about the dog? I like dogs, have one myself but there was way too much content with talking about the dog. Every page there was something mentioned about the dog, how cute the dog was, the dog's toy, the dog's water bowl, etc. Then there was all the filler pages with past characters, babies, and more babies on the way. I started swiping through the pages on my Kindle. More importantly, I just didn't feel the connection between the H/H. Maybe there should have been more interaction instead of reading what was going on in their head, talking about the dog, all the activities with other characters? I like reading about small town ordinary people but this one just fell a little flat for me.

I was disappointed by this 6th book in the series. I felt it spent to much time on characters from previous books and not enough time building the story of the H&h. Brady and Megan's story seemed rushed and predictable, and I wondered often if Jaci even wrote it. This one just didn't do it for me.

I am awful at writing reviews but wanted to make sure that I left one on this great book. This is the 6th book in the Hope Series and if you haven't read the other 5 then you your missing out on other fantastic books. "Don't Let Go" plays out how adults in a small town deal with the curve balls live has thrown them and have a pretty great relationship with each other. I can not recommend this book or this series highly enough. Oh who the heck am I kidding I recommend everything written by Jaci!

A 60-Page Stunner!

This book is one of the most powerful I have read in a long time. When I finished the last few chapters, I physically felt my jaw drop! Don't be fooled by the length of this 60-page stunner; it makes up for any brevity by the sheer power of Mr. Yarbough's message. The Lord has been showing me many of the things contained in this book regarding the absolutely putrid, soulless state of mankind at this present hour. There simply is no other explanation than demonic possession, oppression, and demonic worship to account for the in-your-face wickedness and perversion that is going on today. I believe the fallen ones have been unleashed from the abyss, soulless bodies have been prepared for them, and a war against the Lord Himself and the humanity He loves so much as to die in our place, is being waged right now.

I just want to say thanks to Mr. Yarbough for this book, and for ending it with the gospel message of how to be delivered from hell itself...the blood of Jesus will cover ALL sin.

Best book I've read in a VERY long time!

I've been struggling with issues within myself, after reading this book it opened my eyes to just how many spirits there are and how they effect each of is in everything we do. Our issues could be hereditary (like mother like father) the author was very informative and you can def. Tell he knows what he is talking about. This book to me, gave religion a whole new meaning and better understanding of the 'why' factor. I just couldn't put it down.

"Very Revealing"

This book gives me a better understanding of the distinction between fallen angels and demons. The author explores electromagnetic energy and how it relates to the demonic. He also refutes a popular belief of how the Nephilim returned after the flood. I gave the book 5 stars just for that! What I found most interesting is the possibility of people being born with demonic spirits. A great read for the mature christian.

I'm glad it's back

This review is based on the print edition of Sorcery, but I think the Kindle version is essentially the same. The print edition, however, has been difficult to find and often quite expensive if found. It was the present Kindle version that prompted me to review a book that regrettably until now has been out of print for a number of years.

Sorcery is a remarkable book and I've seen nothing like it. Although its presentation is popular, it has also been of use to scholars as well. Step by step it establishes sorcery--real cursing and spell casting--as an enterprise sanctioned by over a century of scientific research, albeit not well known, conducted by eminent scientists, including Nobel laureates. The writing is lively and reminded me of Lyall Watson's work as it weaves its thesis from case histories and experiments that range over many fields, from medicine to psychology, from anthropology to history. In establishing that love spells and death curses are genuine phenomena, Sorcery can also be seen as a manual of spell casting, a modern grimoire.

Although it's certainly entertaining, it's also frightening--and I think that was the author's intent. The book acknowledges sorcery's use as a healing art, ho-hum, but likewise notes that, like a knife, it can cut throats as well as bread. And it's the throat cutting that grabs our attention and provides the chills. Knowing that there actually are people out there who can--without your knowledge--strike you blind, sterile, or dead, is at the least disquieting and the world cannot look the same after you turn the last page.

In Anglo-American practice it was not against the law to be a witch, but only committing felonies by means of witchcraft. Sorcery presents a case for malignant magic sufficiently sound and disturbing that perhaps we should again look to legal remedies for its criminal use.

Frighteningly Convincing

Sorcery is an excellent book. It brings together hypnosis, psychic research, and sorcery into one cohesive picture of reality that is hard to refute, or even doubt. The author presents study after study to develop his final argument and conclusion: that sorcery is real and works. And, in my opinion he succeeds.

The basic argument states that hypnosis and telepathy can account for sorcerous effects. That sounds simple and even obvious enough. The problem is in just how telepathy and hypnosis work. Scientific studies have shown that people can be hypnotized telepathicaly from afar. This fact alone prompts me to agree with the other reviewer - this is a scary book. The implications of telepathic hypnosis are frightening. Once the author begins to gather all the other data on the subjects in question, you get a picture of reality that is genuinely scary. And this data is presented in such a way that you aren't asking yourself "what if this is real?" You can't help but be convinced.

As I said, this is an excellent book. I would recommend it to anyone interested in hypnosis, parapsychology, magic(k), the occult, conspiracy theories (hey, they're people too), and anyone who wants to see the world in a very different way.

An excellent book badly deserved by the kindle edition

I have nothing to add and I agree with the previous evaluations, this is a great book.

The kindle edition is really a shame and my advice is to read it on a larger screen (I read it on kindle for IPad) because it was painful to read it on my standard kindle device due to stupid line breaks.

About the Author

Maxim Chuprunov is CEO of Riscomp GmbH – a consultancy focusing on the automation of GRC management processes. Prior to this, he worked for KPMG, Schenker AG, and SAP AG. During his career, he has continuously been involved in auditing of SAP applications, data analysis, designing Internal Control Systems, and with the implementation of SAP ERP systems as well as the SAP solutions for GRC. In this book, he has applied his extensive knowledge of both underlying legislation and legal standards and the technical options for implementation.

About the Author

Janice Loudon, PhD, is an associate professor in the department of physical therapy and rehabilitation science at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. She teaches courses in applied kinesiology and biomechanics, applied musculoskeletal anatomy, evaluation methods, and principles of treatment of musculoskeletal disorders, health promotion, and musculoskeletal rehabilitation.

Loudon is a licensed physical therapist and licensed athletic trainer in Missouri and Kansas, an athletic trainer certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association, and a sport specialist certified by the American Physical Therapy Association. In January 2002 she completed a mentorship program with the Kaiser Hayward physical therapy residency in advanced orthopedic manual therapy. Loudon is also a certified manual therapist; she completed the level 1 residency program in manual therapy at the Ola Grimsby Institute in 1997.

As an author and researcher, Loudon has produced more than 40 publications as well as the first edition of The Clinical Orthopedic Assessment Guide. She serves as a reviewer for several journals and is a member of the editorial board for Journal of Athletic Training, Journal of Sport Rehabilitation, and the Journal of Orthopaedic and Sports Physical Therapy.

Loudon is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association, the National Athletic Trainers' Association, and the National Strength and Conditioning Association. She lives in Overland Park, Kansas, and enjoys jogging, biking, and golfing.

Stephania Bell, MS, PT, is a clinical assistant professor in physical therapy education at the University of Kansas Medical Center. Bell teaches advanced orthopedics and provides clinical services at the medical center's Sports Medicine Institute. In 1997, she completed a two-year program leading to certification in orthopedic manual therapy through the Ola Grimsby Institute. Bell is a member of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists and the American Physical Therapy Association.

Marcie Swift, PhD, is a clinical assistant professor in the department of physical therapy and rehabilitation sciences at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. Swift received her PhD in rehabilitation science from the University of Kansas Medical Center in 2007. She has also completed both a fellowship program and a mentorship program in orthopedic manual physical therapy at the Kaiser Permanente physical therapy residency in advanced orthopedic manual therapy.

In addition to her academic and clinical responsibilities, Swift teaches courses in musculoskeletal physical therapy and applied musculoskeletal anatomy.

good quick reference but could have some changes

This book is great to reference on how to perform joint mobs and special tests. There are some inconsistencies and a few errors that I have found throughout the book, and I wish there were better anatomy pictures. Great tables for a quick reference of clinical syndromes and muscle action, innervation, origin and insertions. Overall a good book to have especially while you're in school.

I ordered a used copy and received a brand new one!!

Human Kinetics has put together another great book. I needed an assessment book to help me understand about muscle dysfunctions as I work towards gaining my massage license.

Chapters include: Joint basics, range of motions, physiological limits, postures and gait, neurology, palpation's and clinical syndromes.

This book is easy to follow and use, and would recommend it to anyone.
