Supernatural Revolution sets the Stage of the New Things coming supernaturally. He shares his personal stories of Visitation but this is more a Prophetic Blueprint of where the Church is headed. Many prophetic insights on the Church's future are pulled from the Church's End Time War Strategy, the Book of Revelation. Jamie is serious about Prayer and many of his Encounters come from prayer. There is a Chapter for the Watchmen and what God is doing with them. He counts John the Revelator as a Watchman on the Wall. He tells you how to really see the Lord show up in the Night Watches. You take the good and the bad as a Watchman. He sees an Explosion in both the Prophetic and Faith. Jamie proves that things are going to get Supernatural and fast in the End Times. He sets the stage for a Coming Great Supernatural Revolution and shows you what kind of person you want to be in the middle of all of this. Jamie ministers with Randy Clark but writes like a Mentor of his, Jim Goll. Couldn't agree more with what he says. This book was highly quotable the whole way through.

Great for foundation students

I teach art foundation studies to first and second semester undergraduate students,in Industrial design, Architecture, Digital animation, Communication and publicity and marketing students. i just sort of stmbled on this book, and it has been a great help, other than typical paintings by Bridget Riley or Vassarelly, these Optical patterns have been a great success with my students.

This book is a disappointment, I expected some text re the history of Notan design and some exciting examples. Instead, the book has no text at all, and most of the designs are unoriginal and unexciting. I would return the book for a refund, but it would cost as much to mail it as it cost.

"The Rose-Tinted Menagerie" is a top-notch expose not to be missed. Spending almost five years traveling worldwide from across Europe, into the former Soviet Union and in the United States, William Johnson interviewed circus owners, dolphin dealers, law makers, councilmen, former trainers and workers, to get answers behind the curtain of the circus industry, the traveling sideshows, and ever-popular marine parks and dolphinariums. Nor does he cut any slack for the exploiters and the lawmakers, unable to live up to their duties to prevent such abuse from happening.

While the original printed copy was published in 1990, and several facilities followed in the novel have closed since, it still remains as a damning - if not haunting - testament to humanity's inclination to exploit any living creature for the sake of the almighty dollar. Additionally, the investigative piece remains relevant due to the parallels mentioned in the pages continue to run rampant in the circuses and marine parks of today.

While most animal rights-themed investigations would try to sucker punch the reader with an overflow of emotions and exploitative drama, Rose-Tinted Menagerie does not. Johnson proves his point through available reports, documentation, interviews of the proponents and opponents of the circus and dolphinarium industry, as well as logical questioning of how and why these `freak shows' are considered acceptable in society. From the account of the Swiss entrepreneurial dolphin dealer that abandoned his own dolphins at an Egyptian hotel pool, to the reports of CITES and other fauna management organizations standing idly by as the animals plucked from the wild and into the confines of captivity, Johnson leaves no stone unturned as he untangles this web of questionable morals and ethics, animal abuse, "edutainment" and corruption.

For those who seek for the bitter truth on the other side of the performing stage curtain, look no further: this book is just for you. While occasionally overwhelming with information in some pages, it is worth your time. About the Author
Raymond Jean (1925-2012) wrote more than 40 books during his lifetime - novels, short-story collections and essays. He was awarded the Prix Goncourt de la nouvelle in 1983. His novella La Lectrice (Reader for Hire) became a cinema hit starring Miou-Miou. The film won the Cesar Award for Best Supporting Actor and was named the best feature at the 1988 Montreal World Film Festival.

Short, moderately literary, mildly entertaining

The virtues of this novel: it is short (168 pages of fair-sized type); it is moderately literary; and it is mildly entertaining. The shortcomings: the qualifiers "moderately" and "mildly" in the previous sentence.

Marie-Constance is a thirty-something French woman with a literary bent who dropped out of graduate school. She is at loose ends about what to do. Since she had once dabbled in amateur theater and has a wonderful speaking voice, her friend suggests that she read to people in their own houses. So she takes out a personal ad: "Young woman available to read to you in your own home. Works of literature, non-fiction, any sort of book you like." To her surprise, she gets some clients: a fourteen-year-old wheelchair-bound boy, an eighty-year-old Hungarian countess, a forty-something globe-trotting business executive, an eight-year-old girl whose career-obsessed mother cannot be with her, and an aged magistrate whose eyesight is failing. Marie-Constance reads to them such things as Maupassant short stories, Baudelaire's "The Flowers of Evil", Karl Marx, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland", and "The 120 Days of Sodom" by the Marquis de Sade. All of her reading engagements lead to awkward, unexpected situations.

READER FOR HIRE is a rather breezy novella that makes no demands. The plot has its surprise developments, but the writing (at least as translated) sometimes is predictable and hackneyed. It is laced with a kind of zany humor. It was originally written in 1986, so by now it may be slightly dated (it is set in a town in France, and inasmuch as I have never been anywhere outside Paris and that was a while ago, I am not a good judge on how au courant it might be).

Is it more than just a mildly entertaining tale? It might be an allegory of sorts, about the disparate places to which reading might lead, or how those being read to -- whether they be those listening to an "out loud" reader or those who silently read to themselves what the author has written -- inevitably have their own agendas, which shape the story or the message in unanticipated ways. Whatever, READER FOR HIRE is not particularly deep and I doubt that my memory will retain it for more than a month or two.
