Great advice!

As a transplant from one of the cities covered in the book to another, I'm thrilled to have someone lay out for me in black and white just how different flirting is in different places. And I love that the book is based on scientific research, so I trust that the information is real, rather than just someone's speculation. I know I'll be turning back to certain sections for a much closer read, but I've already learned a lot about how I can be a more effective flirt in my own city, as well as when I travel (which is frequently)!

PEOPLE SAY THAT I have self-confidence. Who knows?

When I began speaking out, I was a realist.

I knew the relentless and incompetent naysayers of the status quo would anxiously line up against me, and they have:

The politicians who talk a great game in campaigns—and play like total losers when they try to actually govern because they can’t govern; they don’t know how to govern.

The lobbyists and special interests with their hands in our pockets on behalf of their clients or others.

The members of the media who are so far lost when it comes to being fair that they have no concept of the difference between “fact” and “opinion.”

The illegal immigrants who have taken jobs that should go to people here legally, while over 20 percent of Americans are currently unemployed or underemployed. Believe me, they’re all over the place. I see them. I talk to them. I hug them. I hold them. They are all over the place.

Congress, which has been deadlocked for years and virtually unable to deal with any of our most pressing domestic problems, or even the most basic ones, such as passing a ­budget. Think of it: a little thing like passing the budget. They don’t even have a clue.

Meanwhile, the bedrock of this country—the middle class—and those 45 million Americans stuck in poverty have seen their incomes decline over the past 20 years. Understandably, their disenchantment and frustration at what’s happening grows every day, and it gets worse and worse and worse.

And even our lawyers and judges, the reflective “wise men,” have been stepping all over the US Constitution, the bulwark of our democracy. They have recklessly appointed themselves to be policy makers, because our actual elected officials are paralyzed by partisanship. They can’t move; they can’t act. They are totally impotent.

As for the presidency and the executive branch, the incompetence is beyond belief.

As I write this, Russian president Vladimir Putin is totally outmaneuvering our president by putting together a coalition in Syria that will make Putin the only effective leader in the world. He and his allies—most notably Iran—have positioned themselves exactly where President Obama and our military have failed miserably for years. They are total failures. They are not leaders. We are no longer a leader. Putin has become the leader, and it’s an embarassment to our country.

We’ve wasted literally trillions of dollars in the Middle East, with virtually nothing to show for it except for alienating our best ally, Israel. To make matters worse, we’ve negotiated a worthless and costly nuclear treaty with Iran (now Russia’s best friend) on the supposition that it will lead to greater harmony and world peace, which it won’t. It will lead to just the opposite.

The idea of American Greatness, of our country as the leader of the free and unfree world, has vanished.

Despite all of these challenges—and actually because of the challenges—I decided to do something about it. I couldn’t stand to see what was happening to our great country. This mess calls for leadership in the worst way. It needs someone with common sense and business acumen, someone who can truly lead America back to what has made us great in the past.

We need someone with a proven track record in business who understands greatness, someone who can rally us to the standard of excellence we once epitomized and explain what needs to be done.

When I started speaking out, I had no idea what the reaction would be. I know I’m a great builder, I’ve built buildings all over the world. I’ve had tremendous success. But I hadn’t fully exposed my political thoughts and ideas to restore America’s greatness.

I also knew that the Trump brand is one of the world’s great icons of quality and excellence. Everybody talks about it. Everybody knows about it. It’s very very special. I’m very proud of it. Our buildings and resorts now stand very proudly (and beautifully) all over the United States and in many other countries.

I started with the issue of illegal immigration, and proposed building a major wall that would be very high and completely impervious to the flood of immigrants who we don’t want or need here illegally. We love people coming in, but not when it’s done illegally.

Suddenly, Americans started to wake up to what was going on with regard to illegal immigration. Despite the large number of candidates who were running for the Republican nomination, what I was saying started to really hit home with people, and ­everybody picked it up and they picked it up gladly.

I started drawing crowds so large that we had to move our rallies into football stadiums and convention centers. The first national debate drew 24 million viewers, which set a record for cable television. Despite some of the ridiculous, antagonistic questions—or maybe because of them—I fought back as I always do and began to explain my vision. As a result, most people thought I won the debate.

People were applauding. All of a sudden, people who had never cared about elections or never voted were rushing to our rallies. The rallies became massive. The crowds were unbelievable. The enthusiasm was based on pure love and love of what we were doing.

The media, the politicians, and the so-called leaders of our country reacted in horror. But I persevered and went directly to the people, because I don’t need anyone’s financial support, nor do I need anyone’s approval of what I say or do. I just had to do the right thing. I had to do it. I had no choice. I see what’s happening to our country; it’s going to hell. I had to do it.

I have now begun to fill in some of the details of my vision. I’ve released a tax plan that gives the middle class and those with lower incomes a chance to keep more of what they earn, while restructuring how the richest Americans will be paying taxes.

I’ve committed to a truly more powerful military, one prepared and equipped to stand up to any and all of our foes. When we draw a line in the sand, it needs to mean something to all—­especially our enemies.

I’ve introduced a whole new approach to job creation by encouraging companies to bring more of their jobs and manufacturing back to America (home where it belongs), along with the trillions of dollars currently being held in foreign banks overseas. We’re bringing that money back. It’s a massive amount of money. And guess what? Lots of good things are going to happen. They’re going to spend that money on roads, on bridges, on companies, on jobs. It’s going to be amazing.

I’ve explained why Obamacare is a costly, ludicrous solution to our health care woes and one which must be repealed and replaced with a much better option. We need to fix the problem by creating competition in the private sector between insurance companies, and by allowing patients to choose the family doctors they want. This will be a much better plan, a much less costly plan—better doctors, better service. It will be something really special. And think of it: the United States will save a fortune as a country. People will be better served. A combination that cannot be beat.

Competition is a magic word in education as well. Parents should have the right to choose the schools where their kids can get the best education. The weaker schools will be closed, and ineffective teachers will be fired. One-size-fits-all ­education—Common Core—is bad. It’s not going to happen. We don’t want our children to be educated from Washington. We want local education. Education should be ­locally based.

Domestically, we need to undertake a massive rebuilding of our infrastructure. Too many bridges have become dangerous, our roads are decaying and full of potholes, while traffic jams are costing millions in lost income for drivers who have jobs in congested cities. Public transit is overcrowded and unreliable and our airports must be rebuilt. You go to countries like China and many others and you look at their train systems and their public transport. It’s so much better. We’re like a third-world country.

I could go on and on regarding many of the ideas I’ve written about in this book, and more that will be forthcoming. But let me add that while my critics are pushing their policy agendas, the last thing we need are more plans that evaporate after the elections.

What we need is leadership that can deal with our mess and begin to apply practical solutions to our problems. My goal is not to design hundreds of pages of government regulation and red tape like others propose. We need to outline ­commonsense policies and then knock some heads together if necessary to make them work. The fact is we are over-regulated. People can’t move. They’re stymied. Companies can’t be built. We’re over-regulated.

I know how to deal with complex issues and how to bring together all the various elements necessary for success. I’ve done it for years and have built a great company and a massive net worth.

This book is designed to give the reader a better understanding of me and my ideas for our future. I’m a really nice guy, believe me, I pride myself on being a nice guy but I’m also passionate and determined to make our country great again.

It’s time we turn America around from despair and anger to joy and accomplishment. It can happen, and it will happen.

Our best days still lie ahead. There is so much untapped greatness in our country. We’re rich in natural resources, and we’re rich in human talent.

About the Author
Philip C. Kolin is the University Distinguished Professor in the Department of English at the University of Southern Mississippi, where for 40 years he has taught courses in composition, business and technical writing, literature, and research methods. He has extensive experience as an editor of several scholarly journals and is the co-founder of STUDIES IN AMERICAN DRAMA (1945-present). He received the Conference of Learned Journals award for the best new journal. In addition, he was also named Southern Mississippi's first Distinguished Professor in the Humanities. Dr. Kolin has published almost 40 books and 200 scholarly articles covering a variety of subjects, including writing, drama, linguistics, and popular culture. He also has written an award-winning book on professional writing for nurses and articles on writing for lawyers and other professionals. Over the years, he has conducted workshops on technical business writing, the publication process, and managing professional communications. He received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University.

Eye-Opening Book

I found this book while buying another book on how to make money from home. The author is very thorough with the information they offer in the book. I hadn't heard of being a Google Rater before reading this.

The information on how to apply for the job and what to expect if you're approved was very helpful. After reading it, I decided not to pursue it due the possibility of being exposed to some items I wouldn't want to see or have my computer exposed to (viruses/malware).

If you have no problem viewing materials some consider "obscene" or "disturbing" and have super-strong anti-virus software on your computer (and a bit of bravery, IMHO), this is a job you might consider looking into. Get this book and find out what it takes.

Up to date info on the topic

Google hire people through 2 agencies to manually review websites to improve their search results... and they pay much more than minimum wage. And human raters are required to look at several aspects of a page to determine quality. I didn't know any of these until I read this book.

I also didn't know how to apply for a job like this until I read this book. Now I know and I can take advantage of this up to date info (July 2013) to get a side job to pay for my vacation! These agencies don't hire all over the world all the time, so if you want to get some income now, you need to take action.

As a person who has been making a living online in non-search related field for more than 10 years, this book is an eye opener for me.

I often wondered if the big search engines really did employ people to rate websites in the index for quality and now I know its true. Not only that, just about anyone can apply for the job. This book explains how to go about that, the criteria you need to meet in order to qualify and what you can expect if you get the job. It totally demystifies this side of online work and provides a solid foundation for anyone interested in supplementing their income. I found this book to be a really useful resource.

About the Author
THOMAS L. BUSBY, a twenty-five-year veteran of the market, began his trading career with Merrill Lynch while earning a law degree. After training in New York, he earned his brokerage license and a license to trade futures, and enjoyed remarkable success. But on October 19, 1987, the market crashed, and with it his career and—worst of all—his self-confidence. After several years of struggle, he reappraised all that he had learned, ultimately devising an innovative short-term trading strategy focused on risk management. Applying this new method, he achieved phenomenal results. In 1996 he founded the Day Trading Institute, now one of the world's most successful trading schools. Mr. Busby is a member of both the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade.

PATSY BUSBY DOW is a former educator, an attorney, and a trader. As Tom Busby's first cousin, she heard him talk about the markets and his trading experiences. Her fascination with his stories and market savvy led her to study his trading methods. She is currently employed by the Day Trading Institute as a staff writer.

Learn the game

This is a great book for a beginner on the basic principles of the game. The principle of always limiting your risk first and worry about taking profits second is worth the price of the book alone. The book is correct, if you honor your stops and control your risk the profits will come. Oddly enough that has always been my biggest weakness, I hated admitting I was wrong when I day traded. This lesson has cost me thousands in the market, but you can skip this tuition if you follow the author's guidelines. The author gives excellent advice on understanding support and resistance along with key numbers when you place trades. He gives the advice to buy into strength and sell short into weakness, this is truly the only way to trade successfully over the long term. You will see the proper times frames to trade in where there is enough volume to cause price movement and trends but not at volatile time periods when the markets have not settled down. You have to set realistic goals and not over trade. You must trade the proper position size with a clear head and a professional attitude. Stay out of the market when important news or reports are due, you can not predict how the market will react to the planned news, you are just gambling when you try to predict this. I believe beginners interested in getting started in day trading will enjoy and learn a lot from this book. For intermediate and advanced traders I would say look into Alexander Elder's books or Brett Steenbarger's for a mental and technical edge, this book is probably to basic for the experienced trader.

Worth reading if you are a trader...

...but most everything is, isn't it? Reading other trader's thoughts and ideas is what helps us keep on top of our game. Even some little obscure paragraph buried somewhere in a trading book has the potential to be the acorn that grows into an oak tree. That's why we all keep reading all the books!

I took away some valuable nuggets from this book. Nothing that I didn't really know already, but sometimes things you already know get presented in a different manner and that's what finally turns the light bulb on for you. As a stock daytrader I am always looking for ways to improve. There wasn't much in the way of stock-trading specifics in this book, as Mr. Busby trades the market direction itself, stock indices. But winning principles are winning principles in any kind of trading.

For me, the emphasis on scaling out of winning positions was a valuable insight. I have since incorporated this tactic in afternoon reversal plays that I like to make - and doing so, along with finessing my tape reading skills to get into the position (another point stressed in the book), has made all the difference in the consistency of my results with this setup.

I also have adapted Mr. Busby's mantra of controlling the risk and profits will come, as drilling this through my head was just what the doctor ordered for my trading mindset at the time that I read this book.

Materials like this book written by professional traders offer the opportunity to mine out the stuff that you can use in your own trading and help you improve. The author himself admits that his style is not for everyone and that a winning trader must formulate his own methodology. Reading stuff like this is very benficial towards that goal; therefore I recommend it.

Ode to Frequency Domain Methods

Blakelock's book is probably the most practical flight control book out there for both planes and missiles. Unfortunatly fly-by-wire and some other newer methods now practicable because of increased on-board computing power are not really covered but are hinted at in places. This tome provides probably the easiest to understand approach to aircraft control in existance. Straightforward and oriented to a step-by-step approach, it beats many of the "classic" texts popular with many professors hands down. Being a controls kind of guy, I particularly enjoy his use of normalized stability derivatives which result in controller designs already in units that can be directly used for servomotor design. A good understanding of this book will be of enormous use to even the most moderm airplane control system designer. For many years this book has been the secret weapon of those "in the know".

This book is oriented almost exclusively to frequency domain methods but there is a state variable approach chapter. Currently, there is a return to state-space methods movement in progress but this material in Blakelock is mandatory even for understanding the state-space methods. Examine Stengel's new work Flight Dynamics.

You probably need this book

This is certainly not my favorite book on dynamics or control, but everyone references it, so you should probably have a copy of it if you're a serious aeronautics guidance and control professional.
